Libraries Are Old But Gold

This video is from 1947 and it brilliantly explains core concepts of different types of libraries, besides highlighting library careers. Of course a lot has changed from that time, although fundamental services and resources remain the same. Remember the old card catalogs? Enjoy this trip back in time. :-) The link below was found on YouTube. Your Life Work: The Librarian (Video)

What Happened to the Library Tree?

Last month we had to say goodbye to our beautiful tree. Do you remember how the tree added a touch of nature to the library? Deeann Fraser, our longtime staff, acquired the tree over 25 YEARS ago. Initially, the tree was small enough, so it was placed on a counter. Unfortunately the tree grew too much, and as a result, we needed to replace it. The "old" tree is now planted outside the library where it finally sees the sun! :-) Have you seen how the new one looks like? It is tiny. We will probably need to wait another 25 years for it to become as robust as the old one.

Textbooks Anyone?

For those of you who are not yet familiar with our Reserves service, we have hundreds of textbooks and other materials available for check out. These textbooks are kindly brought in by your professors, so please take good care of their property. As most of these textbooks can only be used inside the library, feel free to utilize any of our four copy machines if you need. One of the copiers takes coins or bills. Copies are $0.10 per page.
Keep in mind you can also activate your school photo I.D at the circulation desk. The I.D would turn into your copy card.
We hope you can benefit from this service! :-)
